2018 Social Media Strategy
Companies were the ones that had a brand, but in this age of influencers, bloggers, and social media experts, everyone is building a personal brand. The ideas, advice, and photos you share all contribute to your overall brand. However, it is necessary for you to strategize to create content that is relevant to your business and content that attracts more engagement.
Here are the steps for how we believe you can strategize this year:
1. Evaluate your past content, engagement, and relevance!
Figure out what you truly stand for and if your posts are actually reaching your target audience. The best way to do this is to create an audit or evaluation for your company social media that your team can discuss. Take a look back at what you’ve done in the past and see which content had the most engagement. This will help you know what areas you are lacking in and what your audience would like to see more of. This is essential to building a strategy for your content because it allows you to know and repeat the type of content your audience wants to see. You do not want to bore your audience by making content that is not relevant to you or your brand. Remember to always create content that attracts!
2. Always be you!
People love to see original content, especially something that comes directly from you, the business owner or your staff. Growing your company brand requires a personal involvement so remember to gear your posts to relate to you. Being personal in your posts does not require information from your personal life; however, people generally connect more to a post if they can relate to it or if you share your story. Your story could be how you got started in your industry, why you started your business, what you love about your work. This is even more necessary for bloggers or influencers who are targeting a specific group of people or industry such as a fashion blogger. A fashion bloggers posts should be images of their favorite pieces of clothing. Make sure it relates to your industry and don’t be afraid to get personal.Enter your text here...

People are interested in learning directly from a person rather than just looking at social media content which is also relevant to your brand. Although social media is a great way to connect to your target audience, you have to do more to keep their attention. Give your followers a reason to come back. Become an expert in your field and give them free advice or tips. Go Live! The biggest way to change up your content and keep it personal, is going Live on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Video is becoming the best performing content and will continue to grow. The best thing about going Live is you don’t have to be a videographer or make any edits.
5. Lastly, take your brand offline.
Whenever a business opens its door, the most important goal for them is to build a personal brand on social media which is important in today's times. However, networking at events or meeting people from your industry is quite useful as well. There are groups on Facebook for specific industries and getting to network with the people who are established in your industry is always a great idea. Follow each other on social media and connect with them in person! The in person relationship with your customers and industry partners will set you apart from the competition.
